We keep it simple. Individual packages are priced as follows:
Total dimensions under 1 cubic foot, any weight: $16 flat rate
Equal to or greater than 1 cubic foot, up to 50 lbs: $24 per cubic foot
Equal to or greater than 1 cubic foot, over 50 lbs: $29 per cubic foot
A 10% savings applies when receiving 5 or more packages within a single shipment. Parcels over 10 cubic feet or which are not packaged suitably for export may be subject to additional fees.
You’d think so, wouldn’t you? Our name, Tropic Consolidators, comes from the fact that we’re a cargo & parcel service which operates via shipment consolidation. This means we consolidate all of the packages received at our Florida warehouse into a single weekly shipment bound for the island.
But because we work hard to ensure that your parcels arrive to Roatan completely intact, and want to prevent any possibility of missing items, or items being delivered to the wrong client, package consolidation services (combining each customer’s smaller packages into a single larger package) are not offered.
A 10% savings applies when receiving 5 or more packages within a single shipment. However, when available, we still recommend setting your delivery preferences to fewer packages when placing your order, in order to limit the number of parcel fees that apply.
Normally about 2-3 weeks, depending on how close to the weekly cutoff your package is delivered to our Florida warehouse.
The weekly delivery cutoff is Thursday at noon in order for packages to be included on one of the voyages that departs the following Monday or Tuesday. Freighters typically arrive to Roatan on Fridays (1 week + 1 day after the delivery cutoff), after which the shipment is cleared through customs and sorted by our team.
You can claim your shipment the following Wednesday through Friday (~2 weeks after the delivery cutoff), between 10am and 5pm.
Any schedule changes are posted on Facebook & Instagram … Follow us and stay informed!
When it comes to your cargo, we believe in having solid controls in place. So we invested in a robust shipment management system to effectively regulate our internal tracking. We know exactly where your packages are from the time they’re delivered to our Florida warehouse until you collect them from our Roatan office.
Your packages are individually labeled and logged into our system as they’re received, and connected to your Tropic Consolidators account via your unique mailbox ID on the delivery address. From these logs, we create the shipment manifest, scanning packages as they’re loaded onto the container for shipment. All items are scanned again when they’re received in Roatan. This ensures every package is always accounted for.
You can request to receive email notifications when your packages are received and logged into our system.
Our office in French Harbour is open Monday to Friday, 8am-5pm. On Mondays and Tuesdays, our team here works hard to sort packages and prepare them for dispersement. Package pick up is available Wednesday through Friday from 10am-5pm.
Our Florida warehouse is open Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm. Please be sure to check your delivery preferences to ensure your packages are not delayed.
Yes. In order to effectively manage the volume of cargo we receive & ship each week, we require that all packages be associated with an existing account and that all packages are marked with a valid customer ID. Accounts may not be shared.
Nope! It’s free to have an account, so your packages are just charged individually based on what you ship (see pricing above).
Yes, of course! We transport everything from small envelopes to furniture & appliances. Keep in mind that cargo space for larger items can be limited, so delivery times may vary.

Absolutely. Our insurance covers up to $100 per parcel, and additional insurance is available for higher valued items. Please request an insurance form if you wish to purchase additional coverage.
We’ve got you covered. When you ship with Tropic Consolidators, we take care of customs, so no broker is required & no additional customs fees apply for invoices valued under $2,500. A flat surcharge of $100 is applied to cover customs for invoices $2,500 & above. That’s it.
